How can I get involved?

Do you have lived experience of multiple and complex needs, such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues and issues with the justice system, and understand the challenges that they can bring to an individual? ESURG are always looking for new members so perhaps you can use your experience.

What can the role offer me?

A role as an ESURG member can give you the opportunity to make a real difference to your local community. The role supports the Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Fulfilling Lives Programme. Using your experience you will provide advice and guidance to both the You First team, who work directly with individuals and to the project as a whole through membership of the projects Core Strategic Group.

The group can decide on the kinds of activity it wants to do so you'll be able to get involved in helping to devise projects, events and promotional materials. You'll also be able to work with organisations and decision makers from across South London.

The Fulfilling Lives programme is made up of projects around the country, each with their own expert service user groups. You will have the opportunity to work with these groups through a national network, meeting experts by experience at venues across the country. This national group, the National Expert Citizens' Group, tackle key issues at a national level such as how we can better engage the disengaged. You could be part of those discussions. The group also provides development opportunities and training to help build your skills.

Most importantly you'll be in a position to make a real difference to the lives of people with multiple and complex needs, not just across, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, but also nationwide.
